Iconic rotating digital centrepiece

London Stock Exchange logo

The London Stock Exchange is the primary stock exchange in the UK and is located in the city of London. It is the largest stock exchange in Europe and one of the oldest in the world formed in 1801

The Challenge

10 Squared were selected to design a bespoke centrepiece to transform the entrance hall atrium and be an integral part or their future market opening ceremonies. The concept design we put forward was for a large rotating cube featuring 6 faces, allowing content to be seen from any angle or floor by every guest in attendance

The Solution

The Cube features 54 screens and rotates through the day on its central column. Our design and technology team overcame a huge number of challenges including thermal management of the screens, housing of all the network, switching & control technology and power & data management through the rotating drive system and allowing for hidden access for internal maintenance.

10 Squared delivered the design, manufacturing and installation within a 10 week timeline in addition to providing regular maintenance and support on site.

Oscar and BAFTA award winning creative visual effects specialist, Framestore, were tasked with producing the eye-catching content for this groundbreaking installation.

The Outcome

The Cube at London Stock Exchange has become an iconic digital centrepiece and been an important focal point for the market open ceremony which takes place every day to signal the start of London trading. Initial the brief was to create a centrepiece with a life span of 3 years but The Cube has now been operating for over 10 years without fault.
