We talk a lot about digital kiosks on this blog, as many of you are well aware! We discuss the value they bring, where they should be integrated, the best types of digital kiosks, and how you can make the most out of them post-installation.
Today we’re going to do something a little different. We’re going to take you behind the scenes to explain more about the design and production processes, from initial meetings with clients to what we do if one of your machines is broken years after it was built.
If you’re interested in digital kiosks and their value, read on to find out exactly what we do to help clients like you.
How we Approach Our Clients
Clients either approach us, or we reach out to them with some ideas on what digital kiosks could do for their company. We’re not pushy sellers; we just know our stuff and want to share our experience in a way that’s mutually beneficial.
Some clients approach us with exact knowledge on what they need, even down to the dimensions of their digital kiosks. We provide a price, and they either accept or look elsewhere. Digital kiosks are a big investment; we’ll never condemn any business owner that wants to shop around (although our prices are some of the best in the UK!).
Other clients approach us knowing that kiosks are beneficial, but they aren’t sure what to invest in. They might have read our blogs for a few ideas, or it’s as simple as their biggest rival has installed some new digital kiosks and they want to do the same.
Initial Meetings with Clients
There is a lot of information that needs to be discovered before we begin the kiosk design process. This is done via a ‘discovery call’.
We understand the importance of getting to know our clients’ needs and preferences. The more we find out in this initial meeting, the sooner we can get to work designing the perfect solutions.
Here are some of the questions we ask:
- What digital kiosks do you already have?
- Have you tried digital kiosks in the past? If so, what worked and what didn’t?
- Are you equipped to install the kiosks yourself or should we handle this for you?
- Would you like us to come and assess your application in person?
- What are your goals for the future and how can we help you achieve them?
The answers to some of these questions might be ‘we don’t know’. This isn’t a problem, we’ll work with you to explain everything you need to know about digital kiosks, using knowledge from previous clients we’ve helped in your sector.
We’ll also talk about more specific design elements. Do your kiosks need to print or are they purely digital? Should they have scanning features? Is there a rough size you know you have room for? It’s a lot to cover, but it’s worth establishing all this information before we draft any designs so we’re always on the same page.
To help with this, we also strongly encourage new clients to come and visit our facilities. We’re manufacturers of digital kiosks, not just a design company. Everything is created on-site, not shipped in and assembled. You can have a guided tour of our facilities to get a hands-on experience with similar kiosks to the ones you’re looking for or visit later in the process to see them being put together yourself.
The Design and Production Processes
Once you know what types of digital kiosk are best, we can get to work creating some initial designs. With 10Squared there are no off-the-shelf options. Although many of our machines have similar designs on the surface, they’re all completely customised with any features or peripherals you need for your business.
You’ll meet our design team, so they can get to know you and vice versa. We pride ourselves on the personal touch, we don’t ask you to just sit and wait while we work, we want to keep you in the loop as much as possible.
Although we’ll do everything possible to make the initial designs perfect, there’s always a chance you aren’t 100% satisfied, and we’ll never begin manufacturing until you’re positive they’re the kiosks for you. Designs can be passed back and forth, and we’ll always have a few to choose from to speed up the process.
If at any point during the design or manufacturing process you want to check something, or make a change, we’re only a phone call away. And since we produce everything ourselves, the updates we provide are much more accurate, as we can simply walk downstairs and chat to our engineers about where they’re up to.
Production times can vary, but since we handle all the hardware ourselves, you’ll find that we’re faster than our competitors, and the lack of international shipping leads to fewer delays.
Speaking of international, although we’re proud to build our machines in the UK, we are a worldwide company. Digital kiosks are universal – we’ve provided machines for Australasia, Asia, the Americas, and all across Europe!
No matter where in the world you work, our kiosks will be with you as quickly as possible, but without cutting any corners.
Installation and Servicing
When your digital kiosks have been put together and have passed our rigorous testing processes, they’ll be on their way to your application. This can be a single location or multiple depending on your needs. It’s possible to install digital kiosks yourself, but we’re more than happy to send out our engineers to set them up for you.
Once they’re switched on and working well, you’re ready to reap the benefits of digital kiosks. During our discovery call we’ll have provided some data about ROI and the increased efficiency our machines provide, and you’ll soon see that our estimates are always spot on.
We offer service agreements for all of our clients. As reliable as our machines are, faults can still occur, mostly on the software side, but we have fast callouts available to get your kiosks back up and running. This takes 24/48/72 hours depending on your location, but never longer.
If you don’t need regular servicing, we’re still available if any of your machines are damaged, of if they aren’t performing at their best. One quick call and we’ll be on our way.
Bespoke Digital Kiosks that Suit your Needs
We hope this peek behind the digital curtain has been helpful for any business owner curious about how we design our kiosks. Our human-focused approach has always been our primary selling point; our clients are always kept in the loop and receive excellent service every step of the way.
If you’re ready to begin your digital kiosk journey, or still have some questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
